Welcome to Vermonti Health
Working with children and supporting their wellbeing has always been a passion of mine. For the past 12 years, I have been working with children and young people in a range of settings both in the UK and overseas. Initially, I trained as an early years teacher and later gained my Master’s in play therapy at Roehampton University. Since graduating, I have provided play therapy support to children in school.
Having the dual qualification of teaching and play therapy, I feel well equipped to support children as they move through their formative school years.
Over the years I have developed experience in working with children who are neurodiverse, struggling with anxiety and emotional regulation.
Through play, I have observed children work through their emotional struggles or trauma both verbally and nonverbally. I believe that with the right support, children have the inner resources to process difficult feelings and experiences.
I value the importance of collaborating closely with a child's support network during therapeutic interventions, recognizing the crucial role that family and carers play during and after therapy.
I work with a range of materials and vary my approach depending on the child or young person. In my sessions, the child or young person will have access to many different resources including sand trays, creative materials, sensory toys and puppets.
Our sessions often include grounding techniques to help a child regulate their emotions and feel settled.
